Here’s our hands-on review of the Wipro Next Smart Wi‑Fi 24W CCT + RGB LED Batten, complete with what we liked, where it could improve, and whether it’s a good buy for your smart-home lighting upgrade.

✅ What we liked

  1. Rich colour & white-tuning options – We were impressed that this batten offers 16 million colours plus a full white-tunable range (warm to cool). Creates a nice ambience for mood lighting, gaming/entertainment zones, or just regular lighting.
  2. Dimming + scheduling support – We found the ability to dim between 10%–100% and set schedules a useful feature: e.g., auto-ON for your early-morning routine or dim-down in the evening.

⚠️ Areas we found could improve

  1. Installation & setup quirks – While the light itself worked fine, we noticed the setup could be a bit fiddly: initial Wi-Fi pairing required a stable 2.4GHz network, and switching the physical wall-switch off/on during setup caused some confusion. Some users online report: “Pairing can be tricky … you have to on off the switch three times which it never registers.”
  2. App/software experience – The official app from the manufacturer has mixed reviews. Both our experience and community feedback suggest the UI/UX could be smoother. For example: “Don’t use the Wipro app … their app is half-baked.”

For our use: we installed it in our study and we enjoy changing the tone (cool white for work, warm for relaxing, colour for fun) with minimal fuss.

However, if you have a large open space, very dark decor, or you’re looking for top-tier smart lighting performance with flawless software and ultra-solid reliability, you may find some trade-offs here (setup quirks + app issues). But for the price it’s well worth considering.

If we had to recommend one caveat, it would be: keep the wall switch ON all the time and manage power/reset via the app or voice to avoid re-pairing hassles. Also ensure your WiFi 2.4GHz signal is strong where the batten is installed.
